here we go

week 1
Giesshübl (pronounced geese-hoo-ble)

after my arrival in austria, Michael (the father i'm staying with) picked me up at the airport and took me back to their house in Vienna and then relayed his plans for the evening. beeing EXTREAMLY tired, he suggested for me to take a nap there and then be ready around 6:00 in the evening for a family get together for his cousins birthday...half awake, i met some relatives of his and tried some typical austrian food.
the day after, Michael and i drove to (somewhere) in the Alps to go pick up Fabian (the second youngest child) who was at a camp. i really dont remember much of it because apparently i was sleeping. that afternoon, we arrived at Giesshübl, an aggricultural school, but for the summer was turned into a gathering place for families to come and enjoy eachothers company.
it was an interesting experience, knowing no german, it was hard at first to connect with the people, but luckily they knew some english and where able to ask me very simple questions, which i gladly recieved. i made some friends there, realized that im much better at fußball (soccer) than i thought i was, and learned a lot about german techno :D
Lina, (the girl in the purple sweater) is about 17 and shes a lot of fun to be around, we went exploring in the little town nearby called Amstetten and shopped a lot there. we exchanged life stories and i learned that she had spent about 1 year in Ireland and that was the reason her english was very good...which made me happy. Sadly, she left the day after to go to France, to stay with a family there and learn work on her french..lucky..but we really connected in our short time toghether and we still talk!
another friend i made, Verana, who is also 16, was brought to this camp by her boyfriend, but after they learned that i wasnt a threat to their relationship (you get what i mean) we all became super close and hung out like everyday..lots of fun!

on the seconed to last night of our stay there..there was a Disco where all the adults and teenagers stayed up like all night dancing away (i was able to be DJ for a little :D), and that was a lot of fun
the next night was the bonfire night where in the previous day people gathered bunches of sticks and piled them high in the center of the parking lot and then lit it on fire. it was pretty big. and very hot.

more stories will come to me, but keep checking for week 2!!

ikno it's late Part II

so..later that week [after pride] i went with my fam to LA [mehh] so they could go to a PR party on sunset blvd [no, i wasn't able to go] and also to go see my step-grandparents who live in Big Bear [and i thought there was nothing to do in daivs]..so we arrive in Brentwood around 4 in the afternoon and get settled in while my parents are getting ready for the party. after a very nice dinner at the hotel, my grandparents and i [with my brother] decide to go swiming. unfortunatly, the pool at our hotes was being used for an anniversary gathering that only VIP's could attend, so the hotel got us arrangmenets to go across the street to swim there. my grandmother and brother went over there for a while and i joined them later and it was really nice to have a giant pool to ourselves. the next day we had breakfast in Santa Monica [the food was lacking] and my g.p. took The Monkey up to there house in Big Bear while my parents and i went to south pasadena to look for some kids stores. we later decided to drive down Colorado Blvd. which i wish we could've stayed, but we wanted to get onto the freeway at some point before 3:00. we left Pasadena around 2:30 i think and began our greuling adventure to big bear.

you know when you expect things to be a lot shorter, even with LA traffic and driving through the San Bernandino valley? no? well, you're right. dear god, that trip took an eternity. and i thought driving from Davis to Bend was long [it was, but at least there was snow-capped mountians to look at]. i don't blame my parents at all for this, they even said that that was extreamly boring. anyways, we get there and spend about 1and a half days there [without cell phone reception :( ] but lots of Bravo! TV!!!!! i have now fallen in love with TopChef and Kathy Griffin...she's amazing. Our trip was about over, and it was nice to see some family that i havent seen in years. our trip home was long and uneventflul, which is better than nothing.

:D

ikno it's late Part I

15 June 2007

well,

for an update, i'm out of school [yay!]!!!!!!!. yes, it was very nice to wake up today and think to myself, "i don't have to go to school today" ironically i was already showered and dressed about an hour after i woke up...oh well. nothing new otherwise, finals wer'nt so much fun..some more harder than others, but otherwise the where fine.

21 May 2007

i'm back

well, if you didn't know, i was gone to Oregon to attend my uncle's wedding which was fabb. it was really nice to see so much happiness between two people and how excited they where. yes, i cried. but i had a lot of fun (as you can tell from these pictures). we spent our first day in Portland and walked around and ate at this awesome italian café that actually had itallians serving food (pretty exciting if u kno what imean). then we went to this restuant where the rehersal dinner was held, there was SOOO MUCH FOOD, i died. we had hors d'orvers which included bread and butter and some muscles and shrimp, then we had salad, THEN we had our main course which for me was venison (i had never had it before) and finally i had this espresso-chocolate cake that i ate a little to quickly, but i was okay. after dinner we drove for like 1 1/2 hours to where our condo was for the weekend. the next morning everyone was complaining that my cousin sophie kept them all up by throwing up all night, but i guess i slept through that like everything else..oh well. we had breakfast and then i decided to go to my first sauna session ever. that was fun, and i felt pretty good afterwards. everyone else stayed away for the most part and went swiming, but periodically came in to warm up (it was raining). then it was wedding time. i got dressed and, if i must say so myself, i looked pretty good. :D we drove up to Timberline lodge on Mt.Hood and we couldn't decide if the façade or the interior was filmed in the movie The Shining, i still don't know, but it's fine i guess. here comes the fun part: so we get there and we are walked out the back side of the building and told to get into a "snowcat" which was basically a nicer name for a box on the back of a snowmobile. i had already had prior knoledge to this, but i guess i don't know what to expect. we ride in the snowcat for about 10 mintues and we finally arrive at the little hut where the wedding was supposed to be. it was a really cute little hut on the side of the hill surrounded by giant drifts of snow, so we didn't get to go outside much. the wedding was very simple and sweet and we ate a very nice dinner and then comenced the dancing. my boring and lame mother and step-dad, being weird as uusal, decided that they wanted to go home (for god knows why) and i prettymuch straight-up told them that i wasn't leaving. Liz wen't with them as did my younger cousins, but i was able to stay until my uncle left, which was about midnight. it was fun, i was the only younger kid there so lots of the people asked me to request to the DJ if he could play some of the music dance to at our school dances. let's just say that FERGALICIOUS rocked the house. it did. as for the next day, it was mostly involved with an all-you-can-eat buffet which i ate like 3 belgan waffles and felt very sick afterwards. but it was snowing outside, so it made things better. we drove back to portland and we went to this science museum there cause my younger cousing Sophie is in lovee with that sort of stuff, but it was fun. then after they left, we went to the ariport and waited for our plane. it was a fun trip i must say. i really missed traveling...i'll just have to wait 45 more days. yessssss.

16 May 2007

hahahahaha

well, i just recently learned about this guy, and now that he's dead, i can laugh....this may seem very cynical of me, but i don't like gay-haterz. i like that the "grave" envites you to dance on it...i love the castro.

15 May 2007

it's not in davis, but...

Johnny Vera was named prom queen at Roosevelt High School in Fresno, California this past weekend.

At the candidates' speeches Friday in the quad during lunch, Vera, told his classmates, "For me, it's about more than a crown. It's about saying to people, 'Come out and be who you want to be,' You have to say, 'I am who I am, and I'm proud of who I am. My spirit will never be down on the floor.' "

It gets better!

According to The Fresno Bee, "The students cheered and whistled. The girls on Vera's cheerleading squad got teary-eyed. A boy wearing a pin supporting another queen candidate started the chant: 'Johnny! Johnny! Johnny!'"

Congratulations Johnny, you are one fabulous and inspiring queen!

update

i haven't posted recently, so now im changing that. let's see....well, i recently just got some Tresemmé hair mousse and feel very project-runway-èsque. :D hmm..well i just got back from a performance at DaVinci high school (an different high school that shares the same campus as mine) of Fools, which was freakin hilarious. it's basically about this russian village that has a curse on it where all the inhabitants are completely stupid and this teacher from Moscow comes to teach them, but finds out he must break the curse or succumb to it in 24 hours. long story short, he does break the curse and marries a girl in the process; amidst many jokes, some lame, but mostly clever. OH! well this weekend is davis' Whole Earth Festival which is basically a giant gathering of hippies from i dont kno where, and i must say there was a lot of hemp and it's other family members present...you know what i mean.
other than that, i'm watching Madonna's confessions tour for like the 934857389475 time, and it's still amazing as it was before. why? because she's AMAZING that's why.

04 May 2007

i found it

i found the collage that i want to attend. its amazing. the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). it sooooo ..i can't describe it..PERFECT. the only drawback is that its pretty prestigious and kinda expensive..so i better start workin' on my portfolio like RIGHT NOW and try to find some sort of scam i can pull of so i can get a ton of money..real fast.

kk..off to go sew and scam people!!

i'm just jokin' about the whole scam stuff, :D

30 April 2007

it's official

so, if i haven't told you already, I'M GOING TO VIENNA!!! for those of you who know, sorry to say this for the like 983457398475 time.
well, not to sorry, pretty excited about it

so i'll be gone from about 5 of july to about the 29th, but i'll be jet-lagged, so you can probably reach me anytime while your asleep!!!
i will still have internet access, so i can keep in touch with y'all!

28 April 2007

superrr eurrro

yesterday i was describing something to our family friend sara, probably about some guy that i saw, and i described him as having a "super-euro" look that knocks me out everytime. anyways after i said this, my little brother who was with me, about 3, says this quip that is prettymuch now my motto and i've decided to make into a t-shirt. under his breath he says super-euro on the town!" i was really excited to hear this and started laughing...so that's my story, and i love ittt.

i think i'll do it on a blue t-shirt with yellow lettering..cute, no?

26 April 2007

like it or not

As i sit here, i realize that im very much the stereotypical gay guy. Or am i? have i been so "out and proud" that i've molded myself to whatever is considered "gay" to make up for those who arn't? i wont deny the fact that fashion, europe and Madonna are my favorite things in the world, but what about what defines me as a person? My mannerisms, the way i talk, how i conduct myself with others and the like; are they really me? i think for the most part, the answer is "yes", but have i exaggerated it to show everyone that i'm gay? i can't say that i wouldn't be surprised if this where true, i mean you see it everyday. the jocks aren't born talking the way they do, and the same with black people; granted their parents may talk with that stereotypical accent, but they choose to talk like that and adopt that quality because the have a sense of pride when they do; they want to be known that they are proud of their culture. the same would apply to me, i guess, although it's always nice to realize that you aren't the same person you see over and over again in the media. i may dress well, have more 'fem' qualities then your average man, have burning desires to work in fashion, relate to my girlfriends more than the football-star, may be a little more flirtatious then people might like, and so on. But i still am who i am: Kiernan. This noun may have many more descriptions that apply to it, whatever those might be, but its still one person. Me. I am what i am and proud of it. Take it or leave it folks.

22 April 2007

18 April 2007

jour du silence

today was uneventful..which is good. not that i was expecting harrassment, but it's nice to know that people at my school are respectful and understanding. at times it was pretty hard, but i feel like i've done something good. if you didn't do it this year, you definatly should. it's a very rewarding experience. LES PHOTOS!

17 April 2007

Day of Silence

well, day of silence is tomorrow and for those of you that don't know what that is, it's a day that people take a vow of not speaking to help show the voices that are silenced everyday because of who they are (race, religion, but mainly sexual orientation). it's organized by the GLSEN (gay, lesbian, straight education network) and is a nation-wide event. at DHS i think we got about 100 or so people signed up to take part in this and the participants can choose weather they want to be silent for the whole day or just during school. i'm pretty sure we're all eating lunch on the quad in a big silent group to give the big effect. i'll just be silent for school just cause it's very hard for me not to talk..but we'll see, i might change my mind. anyways, i'll be probably posting pictures of what the day was like!!

15 April 2007

the last day..

of spring break. i feel like i should do something special, but i'm in davis, so that won't happen. oh well. i had a nice break, relxing for the most part although i wish some things worked out, but that's over now. hmm..off to school tomorrow. which is good cause i'll see some friends that i didn't see over the break anddd i'll get to wear my new clothes!! yay!

13 April 2007

we need to do this. NOW

so, sitting here, browsing the internet, and what do i find?

a site for organizing "mobile clubbing". basically it organizes gatherings of people that arrive at a certain time and the given moment break into raves (you're on ur own and bring ur iPod to rave out too!!)

i saw this on some london blog where they where talking about this one time recently that this happened at Victoria Station in London and at like 6:53pm like idk, 50 people broke out into dancing. i was laughing hysterically. amazing!!!

we should start somethin

http://www.mobile-clubbing.com/

my day..friday the 13

well if you're reading this to try to find something bad that happened to me today, you won't find it. on the contrary, i went shopping and am pretty stoked about the new clothes i got!!! i went with my mom and stepsister to vacaville [again] to the outlet stores, cause we where finishing up our summer attire collections [or whatever], but im zuper excited about it. well, before we left davis we went to the GAP and i got some cropped pants [Capri cut] that i found [yes] IN THE GUY'S SECTION. i found them yesterday and put them on hold, just in case, and i got them today. i was soo happy that american fashion is finally catching on to this euro wave and the fact that i don't have to makeshift my pants anymore!! yay! anyways, back to vacaville. we stopped by JoAnns for my mom to get some fabric [i don't know what for] then continued on to target where i got Project Runway Season 2 on DVD [ive been waiting for like months] then we had lunch at Taco Bell [be jealous] then went to Polo Ralph Lauren anddd i got a really nice [and fitted] pink polo and a black&white houndstooth-print tie as well as some underwear [!!!!]. then we went to Ann Taylor for my stepsista to find a dress for my uncles upcoming wedding. finishing the tour, we went to Old Navy [boring] where liz found some shorts. overall i had a lot of fun and i cannotttt wait to start wearing my new clothes.

sorry this was kinda materialistic sounding, but im really that excited.

M is for magnificent

PEREZHILTON.COM

Madonna is definitely going in a different direction for her upcoming album.

Many are calling it a "hip hop" record, but we're pretty confident it will still have a pop/dance beat.

And, in the most exciting news we've heard all week, Justin Timbelake has revealed that he is working with her Madgesty on her new album!

Justin confirmed: "I have been working on some new music. But it's not for myself - I'm writing for other people. I'm working on some stuff for Madonna."

Timberlake headed into a West London studio on Tuesday with Madonna.

He is in the U.K. for a few weeks as he prepares to kick off the European leg of his current world tour.

Timberlake's frequent collaborator, Timbaland, has also been lined up to work with M on her new album.

Pharrell Williams has said that he's working on at least four tracks, and electro tunesmith Felix Da Housecat is also working on the record.

"The last album was a credible disco record and Madonna wants to give hip-hop the same treatment this time," says one insider. "It's not all hip-hop though, there are a lot of producers from a lot of genres in there. It could be her most ambitious project yet."

The new record is expected to be released by the end of this year.

seriously

the person that controls my life seriously hates me and is permitting me to go to the holy city of San Francisco. i'm not joking. i haven't been since like November and it's what..APRIL? yeah, not cool. i have tried many times to go there, but something always comes up or doesn't work out. like today, i was supposed to go to sf with some friends, but all of a sudden, her parents doesn't want to drive all of us down there. very suspicious. ergh, whatever, i'm going there though, just wait and see.

10 April 2007

spring break so far...

well i just got back from Monetrey, it was fun. i hadn't been there in a really long time. we went to the aquarium (duhh) and also walked around a bit. but, i definatly had fun taking like 100 pictures. not really of the scenery though...

08 April 2007

Tony Fields

it was amazing, and yes, iknow it was on friday and yes, i know it's sunday. but i didn't but the pictures on my computer until today. it went really well, i'm now inspired to learn the 'Thriller' dance and listen to 80's music more. oh, and NOT dress how they did (well, maybe a little)

Happy Easter!

for those who celebrate it, happy resurrection or bunny day!!!
i hope you all are having fun!

03 April 2007

bubby liam's bday!!

so today was my little brother Liam's 3rd birthday. and a BUNCH of people came. we had his favorite meal, IKEA meatballs and potatos which is always good, just lot's of calories..oh well. anyways, he got lots of really cool stuff like books and toys, so he was pretty excited about that. it's weird to think that when he's my age (16) i'll be like 29..woahhh...

01 April 2007

it's solid goldddd

so, you know how i was telling you that i'm possible going to be the costumer for the DHS drama department? well, i had a meeting with the drama teacher/head of drama dept. and she was thrilled that i was wanting to do this. i was already excited, but seeing her so excited about this made me even more excited. we discussed what i would have to do for the show this friday (ergh) which would be giving a presentation on what people can/can't wear (they will be providing their own costumes, thank god.) its a tribute to Tony Fields, who, if you aren't familiar with the 80's like me, was a choreographer for many famous shows and videos including Thriller, and was also part of the Solid Gold Dancers group....hahahaha...anyways we also talked about the fall show for next year, which i can't reveal what it will be, even though i'd love to. **all i can say is that you better come** soo...i've made a list on what people can wear (to give them some ideas) and also found some images on google which where surpiringlinly hard to find, to illustrate what i'm talking about (keep in mind that im talking to a bunch of people who where born at the latest 1989, so they don't know what their in for. oh, and i also might be showing a clip from Romy and Michelle's High School reunion (the prom scene) to give some more images and ideas.
