so
i havent had the chace to really sit down and tell you about my YES conference experience
besides it being
AMAZING i also had a lot of fun
so the speech with brandon and myself went pretty well..it was just about our homecoming experiences and showing the 300+ people there that they can make a difference in their own schools. as an ironic note, i thought it was interesting that before and during the speech that brandon was waaaayy more nervous than i was, and he's the one who performs in front of audiences..idk, not that it's a bad thing, just found it funny
anyways
the rest of the day was very nice
i attended a Gender&Sexuality workshop as well as a SaferSex one too. i also let a discussion period for both Central Valley and SoCal people and also did a workshop with my friends Whitney and Lyla on Anti-Slurs and what you can do in your schools to prevent that sort of stuff.
after that, i helped set up for the dance, and i helped the DJ set up (btw, he was quite funny..he had me make sure the leopard-print table cloth both
looked pretty AND seemlessly flowed between the various pieces he had to cover up the music board and stands.. :D )
with amazing music pumping and everyone dancing..it was by far better than the Junior Prom that i was missing that night
i had a LOT OF FUN
i'm so glad i went
wooooo
