yesyesYES

so
i havent had the chace to really sit down and tell you about my YES conference experience
besides it being AMAZING i also had a lot of fun

so the speech with brandon and myself went pretty well..it was just about our homecoming experiences and showing the 300+ people there that they can make a difference in their own schools. as an ironic note, i thought it was interesting that before and during the speech that brandon was waaaayy more nervous than i was, and he's the one who performs in front of audiences..idk, not that it's a bad thing, just found it funny

anyways
the rest of the day was very nice
i attended a Gender&Sexuality workshop as well as a SaferSex one too. i also let a discussion period for both Central Valley and SoCal people and also did a workshop with my friends Whitney and Lyla on Anti-Slurs and what you can do in your schools to prevent that sort of stuff.

after that, i helped set up for the dance, and i helped the DJ set up (btw, he was quite funny..he had me make sure the leopard-print table cloth both looked pretty AND seemlessly flowed between the various pieces he had to cover up the music board and stands.. :D )
with amazing music pumping and everyone dancing..it was by far better than the Junior Prom that i was missing that night

i had a LOT OF FUN
i'm so glad i went

wooooo

such blatent advertising

i love ittttt

ArtHistory feild trip

so today i went with my arthistory class to SanFrancisco (yet again) to go visit both the Leigon of Honor and the deYoung museums. we took the bus the long way there (across the golden gate bridge) and got to spend a fair amount of time at each place. it was really neat to see works of art that i recognized from the numerous books about our house and see them up close (especially the Picasso with the skull, leeks and pitcher) and i enjoyed the Rodin sculptures at the leigon. the deYoung was a really nice building and was creativly designed.
it was a great experience and i can't wait until our next feild trip in the spring: SF MoMA

photoshootin'

so a while a go my friend Renée took me on a photoshoot to the railroad tracks in good ol' davis and they actually turned out really nicely (i guess the lighting was pretty bad, and a lot turned out blurry)
but i hope you enjoy!

WOOOOOOO!!!

sooo..like i said, i went to SanFrancisco on sunday to attend a GSA Network Youth Council meeting..little did i know that i would be automatically on the board when i walked in! Marco, the director of the council, asked me to be apart of it even before i turned in my application.
i felt pretty special
and everyone was really nice and i felt really confortable being around 12 or so complete strangers.
so we'll see what becomes of it, since ihave to attend a meeting once a mont in SF and i have no other way of getting down there besides paying 35$ for a train ticket
but other than that
i'm pretty stoked
:D

28 November 2007

i'm a little upset

after finally making my peace with only having to go back to school for 3 weeks,

i find out that it's 4.
damn.

anyways, i guess they should go by pretty fast since i've got lots of stuff planned..for the most part
this weekend, i'm hoping to go to my first GSA Network YouthCouncil meeting on sunday with my friend Whitney to see what it's like (cause i'm applying to be apart of it) and it sounds amazing
next i'm off to SanFrancisco again on tuesday for my ArtHistory field trip to the Leigon of Honor and the De Young museums

on saturday i'm down in SanFrancisoc again for the GSA Network's YES!conference (YouthEmpowermentSummet) and i'm going with a fair amount of my friends...IM REALLYYYYY EXCITED for this (i've been waiting for it since last year)
lol
and yeah, i'm skipping junior prom, but..id rather do this 'cause it's free and i get to be in sanfran.
other than that,
i think that's about it
i just need to go christmas shopping.at Ikea. and other places
i'll be posting my Visual-Friendly-Xmas-Idea list shortly
:D

buon thanksgiving

yay for unconventional holidays!!
so instead of stressing over the basting of turkey and mashing potatoes and what type of stuffing everyone likes,
my family and i decided to head to san francisco for our thanksgiving. it was quite nice i must say..at first we went to this irish pub/resturant called O'Reily's, but then was discouraged when we found out the meal served that night was $39.99..per person.

yeah

so we walked a little ways down the street to a well-liked italians restaurant Mona Lisa and i had a chicken caesar salad
no one had anything remotely turkey-èsque

although, thanksgiving has to have some weird twist in it to make it complete.
priorly scheduled that morning,
we where going to go see my aunt, uncle&cousin along with my grandma who my parents haven't seen for..a while
it was nice to see them and everyone was very warm and welcoming
you're probably waiting for something to go wrong..but in the big picture, nothing did, so that's all good.
although i think the higlight of my evening was
not the light banter of cathing up with my aunt
nor the curses underscorerd with the USC football game (cliché iknow)
but the fact that my grandma of 70-something took a hit in Amsterdam during her 10 hour layover on her way to Ciro
yessir
that's pot i'm talking about

good for her though
i found it amusing

so that's my thanksgiving

hope you're was enjoyable

22 November 2007

happy thanxgiving

don't eat too much everyone
lol

i just realized that Thanksgiving doesn't really have any holiday song associated with it...hmmm
....i'll find one.

the colour blue

so the other night i went over to one of my best friends house to help die her hair
she wanted to dye it blue..and was debating weather or not to dye it all blue or just the tips or something
i told her to go for the whole thing
our other friend who was there said the tips
but Allie wanted to dye the whole thing
so that's what we did
we bleached her hair and then comenced the coloration
it looks fantastique
and we had hella fun with some iPod speakes and fun music

and the camera
:D

12 November 2007

alright let's do this

i've been putting off doing this forever..so here it is
it's not going to be long like you probably expected..but we'll see
so here we go:

UPDATES

unfortunatly due to confusion and much stress (of which i will get too in a minute)
brandon my boyfriend of about 4.1/2 months and myself broke up (well, he did, but it's for the best). we've talked sence and it's been hardly awkward and actually quite nice..so yay!
i went throught tech week and 2 weeks of plays for our DHS production of Cabret. it was an amazing show! people say the costumes where fantabulous so that's really good. i got many new friends due to this, but i'm quite glad it's over...let's just say that thespians are definatly a different breed.
my Sally Bowles, played by a wonderful girl was an amazing singer and we bonded very closely (well..i pretty much saw her in skin-tone bra and hosen) and i was her personal dresser during the production

i spent the night at my friends house recently and had bunches of fun
:D

other than that i think that's the un-through
oh!
i'm also re-inspired to make placticwear..so i'm now going to search through my wardrobe and local thrift stores for cool things i can add plastic to
woooo

promise to write again soon!

homecomingggg

hey!
so i have to tell you how my homeoming day went!
it started off like anyother day, except that we got out of school at 12:48
and Brandon and i walked down in the pouring rain to Central Park to meet for the parade that was too run throughout downtown. we got assigned to car number 24 and hopped in the back of the truck...in the pouring rain. we did have an umbrella and a towel to sit on, but that wasn't doing much to keep us dry. so we decided to screw the umbrella and embrace the rain (good thing we had most of the pictures taken before we decided to do this)
the parade went well..i saw some of my fam and lots of friend who screamed the moment they saw us.
it was exciting.
so as our soked selves where holding on the top of the truck we where standing on..our junior class float behind us kept throwing otter pops to us...and we ate them
so our hands where shaking
it was that cold..and wet
we get back to the highschool and the Sacramento Bee journalist wanted to intervew us for it. it was really cool and she was really nice..although i wish she didnt want to interview us in the rain (but by then i didnt really matter, we where soked as we could have been).
we decided to go for coffee afterwards and got some looks as we walked through downtown with our sashes around us that said "Prince" on it. (mostly good looks though)
as we where getting coffee..there where some football players and their girlfriends sitting outside and as we where walking up to the door, i could hear the girls be like "omg! look how cute they are...awwwww"
and their boyfriends just turned and looked.
i laughed.
the best part was when we where getting our coffee.
the girl who was taking our order was like..."so what's going on with your sashes?" and we said that we where the junior class princes. she didnt get it.
"so, are you guys like competing against eachother?"
"no, whe're together."
"what?"
"where a couple"
"wait.."
"were GAY"
"...oooohhhhh..so is there like another set of a prince and princess?"
"no, this is it"
"there's not princess?"
"nope"

we had to be back at the high school around 8 so we decided to meet later
and we did
except that as i was about 7 minutes away, i get a call that the wanted us to be there like in 3 minutes
and i hadn't even meet up with brandon yet
luckily for me, as i was walking up, i saw him and we went straight to our car
it was an audi convertable.
defenatly the best-looking car in the entire parade
what can i say?
:D
as we get in the car, we have like 50 seconds before the half-time starts. it was fun
as the dance team did their thing, we got lots of pictures taken, and our driver was really excited to
1)be driving an audi convertable
2)having the first gay couple with her

it made me happy
anyways, it was our turn to go
and the annoucer said a samll sentence about each of us and what we do in our spare times
but you couldn't hear them
cause ther was so much screaming
not even joking, as we went by there where definaning screams from the stands
and it got worse when we waved at them.
i thought they where going to throw themselves upon the car
it was really cool to see how excited people where getting
until
we got to the other side where the Davis fans disappear
and the Elk Grove ones start to emerge
then
we go lots of weird looks and "booos" from the camo/hunter-jacked clad people
we just waved at them and gave the peace sign
we got about just 4 claps from the otherside
oh well..there's a reason why we won at DHS and no where else

it was an amazing time and i can't believe it really happend
its such a great thing that our generation is very accepting and open minded (at least in this town)
where something like this could happen
love ittt

more fun with liz

so the other night (friday to be exact)
i went over to my mom's house for dinner
as usual
Liz grabs me as soon as i walk through the door and shoves me outside (i'm not protesting, its just that she's THAT excited)
so it escalates even more when i bring out my camera
(whenever we're together, it just seems that there's always a photoshoot)
but it's all good
it was a fun night..with her
she decided she wanted to straighten my hair...even though its already really straight, but she gets bored

so yeah
i think i've said this before, but she's hella fun
fo.sho.
