this amazing day

my day today was soooo cool

so i went to speak at this pannel at UCD about being an LGBT student at a high school today after 6th period (i love getting out of school early, but that's not why i was excited). so i get there (the classroom where i'm supposed to be speaking at) and i find out that i'm the only one who's going to be there. so i'm kinda nervous now..i was under the impression before that there was going to be others there, but they flaked or something.
lucky for me my boyfriend had mentioned earlier that he was going to walk down after school got out and sit in for emotional support, but by the time he got there..the group i was going to be speaking for had just finished their presentation and i hadn't even started answering questions yet..so he was able to sit in with me so i wouldnt be the only one. the teacher of the class (who was also a lesbian) agreed to give her input as well, so that was even more helpful.
the questions where basic and left things open to be discussed for example a couple where like this:
1. a big problem on high school campuses is the widespread use of language that discriminates against LGBT people. Do you ever hear anti-gay remarks from other students? What is the response of teachers and administrators?
or
2.In your high school classes, have issues of sexual idenity been adddressed? What was the context if so?

now i would tell you what i would say to these types of questions, but then i'd be writing a book, and frankly i'm quite tired; but you get the picture.

it was an amazing discussion and i had an even more wonderful experience
the people where so open and interested in the topic which is something very laking in H.S. classes

anyways, long story short.i had an awesome time (i've said this for the 93847 time, but whatev)
and i got a free smoothie at jamba juice :D

oh and i forgot to mention that i thought i would be talking to a bunch of undergraduate students, but it turns out that they're all working on their seconed-credentials and all aspiring teachers, so it was really neat to give feedback on what works with students and what doesn't.

so
i went to a birthday party of 3 girls that i'm aquainted with (i was invited cause brandon's really good friends with them, but unfortunatly he didnt go)
it was fun
i was able to hang out with some people that i havent seen in a while
so that was nice
anyways

my days was normal as usual
with an art history test where the students get to ask the questions and the teacher 'referees' them
and the first one someone asked was "what is art?"
i didnt know what to say
its like someone asked me "what's the meaning of life?" or "what came first? the chicken or the egg?"
I DONT KNOW no one does
(i didnt actually write that..i think it was somewhere along the lines of 'forms of expressions')

not a very significant day
nothing happened too much
got to hang out with the bf

but why i'm posting this is because a friend of mine charged me with the project of posting a picture of something i find everyday..now..i dont know how sucessful i'm going to be, but here's a start:

the other day
my dad took me to san francisco after school to spend the evening together and have dinner. (my stepmom and brother where in LA..or BigBear rather, visiting fam). we drove around a little then decided to have dinner at Mona Lisa in NorthBeach (the italian section of sf)..afterwards we where walking back to the car when we saw a book signing...by Robert F. Kenedy Jr.

now being 16 and not growing up in the 'Kennedy era' it wasnt as a big of a deal as if Madonna where performing on the street corner..but i've come to realize that it is..just in a different way.

so
looking back..it was pretty exciting...you don't get to see stuff like this very often just walking around SanFran.

my dilema for the week

Intro to Analysis?

damn HARD.
to damn hard.

i might be changing that class.
but i need your opinion.

there's a Trigonometry class that same period, which is defiantly something i might do
but
there's also a Drawing/Painting class that same period.
and i need that class..or some sort of structured time to practice drawing.
which is possible to do on my own, but..y'know.

so if i took my drawing class instead of Intro..then i wouldnt have a math class this year.
which wouldn't blow over well with my mother and my counselor
but if i decided to take Trig..i would do much better and actually understand what i supposidly learned last year.
if i do that..then hopefully i could find some sort of drawing class outside of school..which is also perfectly fine

i just dont know....
